Chief Minister of Madhesh province Krishna Prasad Yadav appointed three ministers on Sunday.
Yadav, who is the parliamentary party leader of the Nepali Congress, was appointed chief minister of Madhesh on Friday.
Yadav has appointed Mahesh Prasad Yadav from the Janamat Party as the finance minister.
Jangilal Raya from the NC and Kanis Patel from the CPN (Unified Socialist) have also been appointed as ministers. However, their portfolios have not yet been finalized.
Province Chief Surendra Labh Karna administered the oath of office and secrecy to the ministers on Sunday.
Chief Minister Yadav, who was appointed after a long period of instability, is leading a seven-party coalition.
Having stated that he would “form the Cabinet within constitutional limits,” Yadav faces the challenge of managing the power-sharing arrangement (portfolio distribution) in the province.
The chief minister is preparing to take a vote of confidence on December 10. The CPN-UML has said that it will also give the vote of confidence to the government.
