CPN (Maoist Center) leader Janardan Sharma boycotted the party’s secretariat meeting on Sunday.
According to party spokesperson Agni Sapkota, Sharma did not attend the office-bearers’ meeting held on Sunday at the party headquarters in Paris Danda.
“He had left after expressing his views yesterday. He did not attend the meeting today,” Sapkota said.
On Saturday, Sharma had expressed a dissenting opinion against the party’s decision to unify with the CPN (Unified Socialist).
He left the meeting after presenting his views.
Sharma has said that it would be wrong to pursue unification by ignoring the issues of party reorganization and leadership handover.
Sapkota said that Sunday’s meeting discussed organizational matters related to the unification.
He also said that it has been decided to call a central committee meeting for November 4 to endorse the decision on party unification.
“Today’s meeting discussed matters of adjustment, as well as policy and ideological issues. Most of the discussion centered on registering a new party,” Sapkota added.
