Nepal firm on One China policy: Home Minister Aryal tells Chinese ambassador

Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal said during a meeting with Chinese Ambassador Chen Song that Nepal remains steadfast in its One China policy.

The courtesy meeting between Home Minister Aryal and Ambassador Chen took place on Tuesday at the Home Ministry in Singha Durbar.

During the meeting, Home Minister Aryal expressed Nepal's firm and unwavering commitment to the One China policy.

He emphasized that Nepal will not allow any activities on its territory that harm China's sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity.

Home Minister Aryal praised the relations of mutual friendship and trust based on the five principles of Panchsheel and 70 years of diplomatic ties between the two neighbors, while expressing commitment to expanding cooperation in areas such as trade, investment, infrastructure, energy, agriculture, technology transfer, and tourism.

The meeting also discussed advancing priority projects under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
