Former prime minister KP Sharma Oli, who is also the chairman of the CPN-UML, has emerged from the protection of the Nepal Army.
Oli, who had been staying at the Army's Staff College in Shivapuri since September 9, left the premises on Thursday.
Sources close to Oli told Setopati that Oli has started residing in a rented house in the Gundu area of Bhaktapur.
Oli's residence in Balkot was set on fire during the Gen Z protests on September 9.
Following the Gen Z protests on September 8 and 9, then-prime minister Oli resigned from his position, and an interim government led by former chief justice Sushila Karki has already been formed.
Chairman Oli emerged from the Nepal Army's protection on the eve of Constitution Day.
The UML has not provided any official information regarding the matter.
"We have no information in the party about where the chairman stays," said Rajendra Gautam, chief of the UML's publicity department.
