I won’t leave my patients to become minister: Dr Sanduk Ruit

Prime Minister Sushila Karki visited Tilganga Institute of Ophthalmology and met Dr Sanduk Ruit on Tuesday morning.

Journalists gathered outside Tilganga asked Prime Minister Karki what she discussed with Dr Ruit. However, she did not disclose the details of their discussion.

When the prime minister did not respond, the journalists inquired with Dr Ruit.

Prime Minister Karki has been appointing experts to ministerial positions.

When journalists asked Dr Ruit if he was going to become a minister, Dr Ruit said, “How can I leave so much work here (at the eye hospital) and go? I won’t leave my patients."

Prime Minister Karki met Dr Ruit as she is preparing to expand her Cabinet. A four-member Cabinet has already been formed. The Karki-led government is preparing to form an 11-member Cabinet.
