The Janamat Party has decided to field Dhaniram Chaudhary as its candidate for the by-election in Rupandehi Constituency No. 3.
Janamat Party’s spokesperson Sharad Singh Yadav confirmed the party’s decision to field Chaudhary in the by-election.
"He was brought into the party precisely to make him the candidate," Yadav said. "Accordingly, the party has decided to make him the candidate."
Chaudhary joined the Janamat Party on August 3. Before that, he was with the Nagarik Unmukti Party.
In the House of Representatives elections held in 2022, Chaudhary was the NUP’s candidate from Rupandehi Constituency No. 1.
CPN-UML candidate Chhabilal Bishwakarma was elected from the constituency, while Chaudhary finished fourth.
Chaudhary was previously associated with the Tharuhat and Tharuwan movements. He also served as the chairman of the Tharu Welfare Council.
The by-election in Rupandehi-3 is scheduled for November 3.
