The opposition party, Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), has demanded the resignation of State Affairs and Good Governance Committee Chairman Ramhari Khatiwada.
Speaking during Wednesday's House of Representatives meeting, RSP lawmaker Manish Jha said that Chairman Khatiwada should resign on moral grounds over the manipulation of the cooling-off period provision in the Federal Civil Service Bill.
Jha said that no one can escape accountability by claiming that the investigation report did not name individuals.
"The name of the position is mentioned. The name of the responsibility is mentioned. The name of incompetence is mentioned. We demand resignation," Jha said.
He also recalled how the RSP was lectured on morality when similar issues arose in the past.
"When such issues came up, we were questioned about morality. Now, we pose a moral question to him: Who will answer for this incompetence? Who will take responsibility for this?" Jha said.
