The bill to amend the Citizenship Act has been passed by the State Affairs and Good Governance Committee of the House of Representatives.
The committee’s meeting held on Tuesday at the Singha Durbar unanimously passed the bill, News Agency Nepal reported.
Committee Chairman Ramhari Khatiwada expressed confidence that the bill would help individuals without citizenship obtain citizenship.
He thanked the lawmakers who helped pass the bill unanimously.
Khatiwada also informed that the citizenship-related bill passed by the committee would soon be presented in Parliament.
