CPN Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has conceded that the current leaders act like the nobilities during the Rana regime.
Speaking in a program at Tilottama municipality of Rupandehi on Thrusday, Dahal stated that leaders after movements are acting like the governors (bada hakim) during the Rana regime, and pointed that there is a strange kind of confusion among the leaders right from the time of movement against the Rana regime until now.
"People, party, leaders and cadres launch movements and announce big political changes but the old structures blunt the leaders and turn them like the old rulers within a few years," Dahal asserted. "There were governors during the Rana rule. Leaders after the movements also gradually turned into one."
He added that changes were expected after the end of Panchayat regime but the situation did not change. He conceded that the system has become like Rana rule due to some reasons despite the desire for change in both the people and the government, and stressed that such situation should be changed.
