President Ram Chandra Paudel has sent the bill related to Constitutional Council back to Parliament.
On Thursday, President Paudel returned the bill to amend the Constitutional Council (Functions, Duties, Powers, and Procedures) Act to the House of Representatives for reconsideration.
According to Kiran Pokharel, the president’s press advior, as the amendment bill was deemed contrary to the spirit and essence of the Constitution, democratic values and norms, and global practices, it was sent back to the House of Representatives, where it originated, on Thursday for reconsideration under Article 113 (3) of the Constitution.
The amendment bill, passed by both Houses, was presented to the president for authentication on July 15.
