Police fire blank shots in Hetauda

The police fired blank shots in Newarpani of Makwanpur after the locals started to vandalize the police station there Sunday. Some locals had picketed the police station demanding release of one Raj Kumar Jimba of Hetauda-19 nabbed on charge of harassing women under influence Saturday night, according to the police. SP Bikash Raj Khanal said the police fired blank shots to control the crowd that started to vandalize the police post after refusing to release Jimba. The police have taken seven persons under control while a policeman has been injured in the incident. The police had nabbed Jimba after he and a group of men, who had gone to Handikhola for picnic, started to harass women.
