The Nepal Army (NA) has imposed prohibitory order (restrictions on movement) in the Kathmandu Valley until Wednesday evening.
The Directorate of Public Relations and Information of the NA issuing a statement Wednesday morning has announced that the restrictions on movement would be in effect until five in the evening. There would then be curfew until six Thursday morning.
The army has requested that no vehicles, other than those for essential services, be operated during the prohibitive order and curfew.
Only ambulances, hearses, fire trucks, and vehicles belonging to health workers and security personnel will be allowed to operate.
The army has also warned that any demonstrations, vandalism, looting, arson, or attacks on individuals and property in the name of the protest will be considered punishable crimes and will be strictly dealt with.
The army also stated that various anarchists and groups are still infiltrating and engaging in activities such as vandalism, arson, looting, and violent attacks on individuals, including attempted rape, in the name of the protest.
The Nepali Army has requested that retired soldiers, security personnel, civil servants, media personnel, and the general public not be swayed by rumors and only disseminate official information.
