Judge Khusi Prasad Tharu of the Janakpur High Court’s Birgunj bench was subjected to misconduct on Thursday.
While the court was in session in Birgunj on Thursday, some individuals misbehaved with Judge Tharu.
According to the court’s registrar, Deepak Bhandari, three individuals involved in the misconduct have been taken into custody.
They are workers of the CPN (Majority) party. They entered the courtroom and threw ink at the judge.
“They attempted to smear ink inside the courtroom, but the three individuals have been detained,” Bhandari said.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Kishor Lamsal at the District Police Office, Parsa, said that the arrested individuals had entered the court with the intent to misbehave with the judge.
“It appears they entered with the intent to misbehave. The judges were writing after concluding a hearing when they entered and misbehaved,” he said. “All three claimed to be activists of the CPN (Majority) close to Dharmendra Bastola.”
The arrested individuals are Garbhu Mahato, Padam Bahadur Magar, and Kishor Kumar, also known as Abinash.
They misbehaved with the judge saying he took the decision to acquit Nepali Congress leader Mohammad Aftab Alam.
On May 28, a joint bench of Judges Khusi Prasad Tharu and Arjun Maharjan acquitted Alam and three others in the Rajapur bomb blast case.
