A plane carrying Nepalis deported by the United States has arrived in Kathmandu.
Anjan Neupane, spokesperson for the Immigration Office at Tribhuvan International Airport, said the US brought the deportees to Kathmandu on a chartered flight on Sunday.
According to Neupane, 37 Nepalis deported by the US arrived on Sunday. They include 32 men and 5 women.
The embassy had informed about their deportation a week ago. The TIA Immigration Office hands over deportees to the Anti Human Trafficking Bureau of Nepal Police.
Senior Superintendent of Police Krishna Pangeni of the bureau also confirmed the return of 37 Nepali deportees from the US.
According to Pangeni, the bureau will conduct routine inquiries with the deportees to find out how they reached the US and whether they are victims of fraud by agents.
If such people are victims of fraud and file complaints against the agents, the bureau will proceed with an investigation.
