Police have obtained permission to keep 53 individuals, including Durga Prasai, arrested in connection with the Tinkune incident of Kathmandu, in custody for an additional two days.
Superintendent of Police Apil Raj Bohara at the District Police Range, Kathmandu, said that the Kathmandu District Court on Thursday granted two more days to investigate the accused.
"The investigation is still not complete. Therefore, we have been granted two more days," he said.
The District Police Range has reached the final stage of the investigation into the Tinkune incident.
Altogether 53 individuals are in police custody for investigation in connection with the incident. Among them, 26 individuals, including Prasai, are being investigated for offenses against the state and organized crime.
The remaining 27 are under investigation for criminal mischief.
The police will soon submit the investigation report to the District Government Attorney's Office, Kathmandu. Once the report is submitted, the government attorney will file a case in the Kathmandu District Court.
Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Senior Vice-chairman Rabindra Mishra, RPP General Secretary and lawmaker Dhawal Shumsher Rana, and 35 others have been released on personal guarantee in the case.
