Two persons who died in Birgunj on Thursday have posthumously tested positive for COVID-19.
Coordinator of the Gandak Covid Hospital Dr Uday Singh told Setopati that the two, whose swabs were collected before death, have been confirmed infected in the reports that arrived Friday. They had reached the hospital with COVID-19 symptoms and were put on ventilator at the emergency ward at the Narayani Hospital in lack of Intensive Care Unit( ICU) beds at the Gandak Hospital.
A total of 49 persons have tested positive according to the reports issued on Friday by the laboratory at the Narayani Hospital. The total includes 26 from Parsa, 20 from Bara, two from Mahottari and a staffer from the Consulate General of India in Birgunj.
The figure includes 11 from the Narayani Hospital including a doctor with the NICU, a staffer each from nutrition, pharmacy and physiotherapy departments, three sweepers, three security guards and an office assistant.
