Two more COVID-19 deaths have been reported in Nepal on Friday. A 45-year-old man died of COVID-19 at the Patan Hospital and a 25-year-old man died at the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan Thursday night.
The man from Birgunj was referred to the Patan Hospital by Star Hospital. He suffered from diabetes and hypertension, according to Patan Hospital Director Dr Bishnu Sharma. He had tested positive while at Star and was then referred to the Patan Hospital. He died Thursday night.
The 25-year-old youth from Golbazar, Siraha died while undergoing dialysis at the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan at around 9:45 Thursday night, according to Hospital Spokesperson Dinesh Sapkota. "He was apparently on dialysis for the past two years. He was brought to the hospital yesterday. We started dialysis immediately after his arrival. He died in the night during the procedure," he added.
Janakpur Hospital had referred the youth to Dharan after he tested positive saying dialysis cannot be done there. "He was referred here from Janakpur as we have the facility to do dialysis of COVID-19-infected patients," he revealed.
The COVID-19 death toll in Nepal has now reached 68.
