Another man dies of COVID-19 in Birgunj

Another man has died of COVID-19 in Birgunj on Thursday. The 65-year-old man who died at the Gandak Hospital in Birgunj Thursday morning has posthumously tested positive.

Medical Superintendent at the Narayani Hospital Dr Madan Kumar Upadhyaya said the man was admitted Tuesday with fever and respiratory problems. The man was initially treated at the emergency ward but was put on ventilator Wednesday night after his health deteriorated. He breathed his last at eight Thursday morning.

He was diabetic and also had heart conditions. He was running a store in Birgunj and did not have travel history.

A woman who died at Om Hospital in Chabahil Wednesday night was also posthumously confirmed infected earlier on the day.

The woman was admitted at the hospital five days back, according to the hospital. Her swab was sent for test the same day. The woman with asthma and hypertension died Wednesday night while undergoing treatment at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
