Prime Minister (PM) KP Sharma Oli and every other senior government officials who recently came in contact with COVID-19-infected Internal Affairs and Law Minister of Province 2 Gyanendra Yadav have tested negative.
Yadav had met PM Oli, Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa, Home Secretary, police chief, law ministers of all seven provinces and others at a meeting about police integration at Baluwatar on Saturday. Hw had returned to Janakpur on Monday and had got himself tested there. He was confirmed infected when the report arrived Wednesday night.
PM Oli was tested Thursday after Yadav's meeting with him was revealed.
PM Oli and everyone else who had come into close contact with Yadav were tested. Members of Oli's secretariat were also tested for the virus. "Swab of everyone was collected. All the reports have turned out negative," PM's Press Advisor Surya Thapa said. "PM Oli has been exercising caution and been meeting only after maintaining physical distance. PM is aware and serious on this issue."
