A 77-year-old man has died of COVID-19 at the Koshi Hospital in Biratnagar on Monday.
Medical Superintendent of Koshi Hospital Dr Chuman Lal Das said the man was admitted at 9:30 Monday morning with fever, chest pain and respiratory problems. His swab was then extracted for PCR test.
He died at around three in the afternoon and the test report that arrived after four showed he was infected.
The patient did not have any travel history. He also suffered from diabetes and hypertension. His family members say that he was suffering from fever for the past four days, according to Dr Das.
The body is currently at the hospital and the Nepal Army will conduct the funeral.
This is the 58th COVID-19 death reported in Nepal.
