Twenty-eight Nepalis have died of COVID-19 outside Nepal in the past week.
The death toll includes 25 deaths reported in India, two in Saudi Arabia and one in South Africa. The total number of Nepalis dying of COVID-19 outside Nepal has now increased to 189, according to the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA).
The NRNA issuing a statement from London on Sunday has stated that the pandemic has claimed life of Nepalis in 38 countries with Maharashtra of India registering the highest number of victims. A whopping 35 Nepalis have tested positive in Luxembourg following a family function, according to the statement.
The NRNA said 37,425 Nepalis have been sent to Nepal in coordination with the Nepali diplomatic missions until now.
