The whole family of the older adult of Saptari who succumbed to COVID-19 on Thursday has tested positive.
Chief of the District Public Health Office Duniya Lal Yadav confirmed that all five members of the man's family have tested positive. The infected persons include his wife, son and daughter-in-law, and two grandchildren aged 11-67 years.
The infected persons are all at their home. "Their home is like an isolation facility as all of them are infected. We have, therefore, kept them at their home under supervision of health personnel," Yadav stated.
The 73-year-old man had died while undergoing treatment at the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences on Thursday. The man with heart conditions was suffering from fever and cough when he was admitted.
The family has a seeds and gas dealer and tests of 17 other persons including workers at the dealer and frequent visitors have also been done. One report has arrived negative while others have yet to arrive.
