A man undergoing treatment for COVID-19 at the Karnali Provincial Hospital died Monday night.
The 45-year-old tuberculosis patient from Dullu municipality 3, Dailekh had been admitted at the hospital on June 17. He tested positive for COVID-19 the next day, according to COVID-19 focal person in the hospital Dr KN Paudel. "We had shifted him to the special coronavirus hospital after testing positive. He died Monday night," he stated.
This is the 24th COVID-19 death confirmed by Nepal.
He revealed that the funeral rites would be done in Surkhet by the Nepal Army. The man's wife, who had accompanied him to the hospital, has tested negative thrice.
He added that the wife will be sent home after funeral rites and quarantined there.
