The Home Ministry has said ward chairman of Chaurjahari-8 Dambar Bahadur Malla had misled the police on the day of incident.
Issuing a statement about the report submitted by the six-strong probe committee it formed, the ministry on Monday has said Malla informed the police saying Navaraj BK and his friends have arrived, and sent them to the wrong place to look for the youths.
"He sent the police to the wrong place to take the youths who had entered the village under control providing false information, and gathered villagers on the other hand," the statement reads. "They chased the victims who had reached almost four kilometers away, and created a situation of taking life of the six persons by pelting stones at them."
The ministry has assured that it is sensible that such incidents are not repeated in the future.
The District Government Attorney Office has already lodged a murder case against 32 persons including the ward chairman.
