Chief district officers (CDO) of the three districts in the Kathmandu Valley will inform the government about the businessmen unilaterally opening their shops.
The three CDOs held an emergency meeting on Thursday after businessmen opened their shops at places including the New Road even as the government-imposed lockdown continues. Bhaktapur CDO Hum Kala Pandey told Setopati that the meeting held on initiative of Kathmandu CDO Janak Raj Dahal is ongoing. "We cannot decide whether to lift lockdown or not," she pointed. "We are discussing about informing the government that shops have started to open and recommending whether lockdown can be relaxed a bit."
She said the meeting will convey the decisions to the COVID-19 Crisis Management Center (CCMC).
The Cabinet meeting later on Thursday will also discuss about whether to relax the lockdown a bit or continue with it.
