Ring Road expansion sluggish at Maharajgunj-Sukedhara section (Pictures)

The expansion of the Ring Road section from Narayan Gopal Chowk to Chappal Karkhana in Kathmandu is currently in full swing.

After China announced the construction of the Ring Road section from Kalanki to Basundhara, the Department of Roads (DoR) has proceeded with the expansion of this section, adhering to the same standards.

Currently, the 700-meter stretch of the Ring Road from Maharajgunj to Sukedhara is under construction. The DoR plans to build this road section with 10 lanes, including service tracks.

The target was to complete this road section within the current fiscal year. However, only 30 percent of the work has been completed so far. The DoR cited the monsoon season as the reason for the delay.

The road section is being constructed by Ambuja-SK-Kali JV Kathmandu.
