The High Level Coordination Committee for Prevention and Control of COVID-19 has concluded that the nationwide lockdown should be extended further. The committee meeting on Sunday has decided to recommend the Cabinet to extend the current lockdown, that expires on May 18, until June 2.
The Cabinet meeting later Sunday will take a decision on that.
"The committee's meeting today has concluded that its utility remains as we have been able to prevent large scale infection," Secretary with the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers Narayan Bidari told Setopati. "The committee has also decided to move forward in a way that security arrangements are more effective and delivery of supplies and service is not reduced."
He revealed that the committee has also decided to assist local bodies to make quarantine arrangements well-managed.
