The Kathmandu District Administration Office has granted 10-day custody of Chinese nationals for manhandling police personnel.
SSP with the Metropolitan Police Range Shyam Gyawali told Setopati that the office granted custody of 10 days for investigation.
The police had arrested 47 Chinese nationals on Friday after they clashed during demonstration in the restricted area of Singha Durbar. Forty-three of them were released Friday night while four were charged of misdemeanors.
A Nepal Police DSP was injured when Chinese nationals clashed with the police in the Singha Durbar Area on Friday.
DSP with the Metropolitan Police Circle Singha Durbar Hari Basnet sustained head injury during the clash that ensued when the Chinese nationals tried to enter the Singha Durbar.
Many Chinese nationals have been stranded in Nepal due to the lockdown. The Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu sent a few on a chartered flight but many are still in Nepal.
