Three persons who had recovered from COVID-19 have been reinfected in Nepal.
The 52-year-old man from Sun City Apartments, a 29-year-old man from Rautahat discharged from Narayai Hospital and another Indian national have tested positive after recovery.
This is the first time that anyone has been reinfected after recovery in Nepal.
The man from Sun City, his wife and mother, who had all returned from England, were hospitalized after testing positive in rapid diagnostic tests on April 13. PCR tests later found that the mother and son were infected while the man's wife tested negative.
The mother and son had returned home after staying in hospital for 10 days. The son has now tested positive again during followup test.
The man from Rautahat was admitted at the Narayani Hospital after testing positive on April 13. He and four Indian nationals were discharged on April 26 after recovery. The man and one of those four Indians have again tested positive now.
A total of 82 persons have tested positive in Nepal until now. Twenty-two of them had returned home after recovery. Three of those 22 have again tested positive now.
