The task force formed by the high level coordination committee for control and prevention of COVID-19 to prepare modality for lockdown has recommended a one-week extension.
The committee on Saturday had formed a task force under Chief Secretary Lok Darshan Regmi, including secretaries of different ministries and chiefs of security agencies, to prepare modality for the lockdown. It was also instructed to recommend what can be done for comfortable life with lockdown.
The task force has recommended to extend lockdown by a week and relax it depending on places, according to a source. It has also said arrangements can be made to resume development works with high level security alertness.
Public transportation vehicles will, however, not be allowed to operate.
The Cabinet will take the final call on the recommendations.
