Ten more persons who had come into contact with the 13 infected persons of a mosque in Bhulke, Udayapur have tested positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday taking the total number of infected persons in Nepal to 40.
PCR test at the Koshi Hospital in Biratnagar had showed eight more persons to be positive earlier on Tuesday. Retesting the samples at the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences (BPKIHS) in Dharan have confirmed infection.
The eight are in the isolation ward of BPKIHS
Two similarly have tested positive by the National Public Health Laboratory.
Twelve of the 16 persons in the mosque had tested positive on Friday. One more tested positive later. Swabs of 69 persons from the area were then sent to Koshi Hospital.
Confirmation of the nine persons from Udayapur today has taken the total number to 41 with 23 in Udayapur district alone. Four of the infected persons of different places across the country have already returned home after recovery.
