A writ petition has been registered at the Supreme Court (SC) demanding the workers walking to home, students staying in cities for study and those facing difficulty in staying far away from home during the lockdown be dropped to their respective homes.
Senior advocate Prakash Mani Sharma, and advocates Laxmi Thapa and Sanjay Adhikari on Sunday have moved the Apex Court demanding record of such persons be collected and they be sent home.
Citing the news report published in Setopati on Friday about workers walking to their home in Kailali from Solukhumbu has demanded people be safely dropped home instead of allowing them to walk in such unsafe manner.
The petition has also demanded that people who have fallen sick or with disabilities who cannot go to home from the cities be kept at a safe place, and called for psychosocial consultation for people who have been forced to stay away from home due to the lockdown.
It has also demanded that the budget allocated for the Electoral Constituency Infrastructure Special Program be directed to the coronavirus prevention, control and treatment fund.
