The government has extended the one-week nationwide lockdown by another week.
The Cabinet meeting Sunday evening decided to extend the lockdown as recommended by the high-level coordination committee to fight coronavirus pandemic headed by Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Ishwore Pokharel earlier on the day.
The committee had taken the decision for nationwide lockdown on Monday effective from Tuesday. The government a day earlier had also decided to shut down all border points with India and China.
The nationwide lockdown will now continue until April 6.
The government has also decided to extend suspension of incoming international flights till April 15. The government on March 20 had decided to halt international flights from March 22 to March 31.
Domestic flights have remained suspended since the country went for a nationwide complete lockdown from March 24.
