Nepal has recorded the fifth case of coronavirus infection on Saturday.
A 22-year-old woman who returned recently from Belgium via Qatar has tested positive for the virus, Spokesperson at the Health Ministry Bikash Devkota revealed organizing a press conference in the afternoon.
"She had arrived on a Qatar Airways flight QR 652 on March 17," Devkota stated. "She is now in contact of doctors and her health is normal."
A 34-year-old man who returned recently from Dubai and was undergoing treatment at the Seti Provincial Hospital in Dhangadi tested positive for the virus on Friday to become the fourth person to be infected with coronavirus in Nepal. That was the first case to have been recorded outside the Kathmandu Valley.
The third person, a youth who had returned from Sharjah, UAE, was confirmed Tuesday midnight.
Health Minister Bhanubhakta Dhakal, organizing a press conference on Monday, had confirmed a 19-year-old student returning from France via Qatar tested positive for the coronavirus.
The girl had arrived on March 17 and was on self-quarantine at home. She had contacted the Shuraraj Tropical and Infectious Disease Hospital in Teku on Friday after her friend from Vietnam who accompanied her from France to Doha contacted her to inform that she tested positive for the virus.
A man, who had returned from Wuhan, was the first to be tested positive over a month back.
