A third person has been confirmed to have been infected with coronavirus in Nepal. Communication Officer with the National Public Health Laboratory Rajesh Kumar Gupta confirmed that infection of a youth was established after test report arrived Tuesday midnight.
Gupta said the youth had arrived from a Gulf state but did not elaborate about the date and the flight he took to come to Nepal.
The youth is currently being treated in the isolation ward of the Shuraraj Tropical and Infectious Disease Hospital in Teku.
He is the third person to be infected in Nepal. One of them has recovered while two are currently in isolation.
Health Minister Bhanubhakta Dhakal, organizing a press conference on Monday, had confirmed a 19-year-old student returning from France via Qatar tested positive for the coronavirus.
The girl had arrived on March 17 and was on self-quarantine at home. She had contacted the Shuraraj Tropical and Infectious Disease Hospital in Teku on Friday after her friend from Vietnam who accompanied her from France to Doha contacted her to inform that she tested positive for the virus.
