A 70-bed temporary coronavirus hospital has been completed in Chitwan within 72 hours.
Mayor of Bharatpur Metropolitan City Renu Dahal told Setopati that the hospital will be inaugurated Friday itself.
The temporary hospital has been established in three buildings of the exhibition center in Bharatpur-10. It will have 50 general beds, 10 intensive care unit (ICU) beds and 10 high dependency unit (HDU) beds.
A total of 150 persons including those from Nepal Army, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, doctors and commoners worked since Tuesday to prepare the temporary hospital.
"There was intense pressure to finish work after setting the 72-hour deadline. It could be done as planned after everyone cooperated," Mayor Dahal said.
Bharatpur Metropolitan City will operate the hospital that will deal with any suspected patients of COVID-19. "We will also talk with the central government for a laboratory to test for COVID-19 here in Bharatpur," Dahal added.
