A man has suffered acid attack while sleeping in a rented room in Balaju, Kathmandu Monday night.
Acid was poured on Ram Raja Thapa, 24, of Nuwakot currently living on rent in Old Guheshwori of Tarakeshwore municipality 4 while he was sleeping Monday night. He was staying with his wife and a four-month son.
Acid was poured on his face and hand while he was sleeping with all the windows and door closed. "Nobody from outside could have come in as the windows and door were closed," DSP with Metropolital Police Circle, Balaju Ranjit Singh Rathour told Setopati. "We have taken the wife under control for interrogation suspecting she poured acid on him."
The landlord has told the police that the couple, who rented the room recently, would quarrel regularly.
Thapa is currently being treated at the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH) for the burns on his face and hand.
