The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has appealed visitors to not go to the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) to receive or see off passengers unless extremely necessary.
The CAAN issuing a statement on Monday has informed that the visitor passes will no longer be issued at the TIA to prevent coronavirus outbreak in the country.
"We request the near and dear ones and other persons coming to receive or see off passengers to not enter the airport unless extremely necessary, and all who come in extremely necessary situation to use mask," the statement issued by CAAN states.
The government on Sunday had urged the people to cut crowding at public places that can spread infection.
The precautionary measures have been taken in light of the World Health Organization keeping Nepal in high risk for COVID-19.
