Prime Minister (PM) KP Sharma Oli will have kidney transplant on Wednesday.
CPN Spokesperson Narayan Kaji Shrestha, following a secretariat meeting on Wednesday, said Oli will have transplant at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH). "CPN Chairman and PM KP Sharma Oli informed about his treatment plan during the secretariat meeting," Shrestha stated. "He will be admitted at the TUTH Monday itself."
He added that the secretariat wished for successful transplant and speedy recovery of Oli.
Doctors at the hospital said 99 percent of preparations have been completed for the transplant.
Oli, whose transplanted kidney has stopped functioning, is on regular dialysis in recent times. He underwent plasmapheresis seven times in Singapore in August 2019.
Plasmapheresis is a term used to refer to a broad range of procedures through which blood components are filtered outside the body. It was done on PM Oli, who had a kidney transplant 12 years ago in New Delhi, to remove antibodies for immunosuppression.
