The government has brought 175 Nepalis stranded in the Chinese city of Wuhan to Kathmandu early Sunday morning.
The wide-body airplane of Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) with the rescued persons, mostly students, landed at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) at 3:22 in the morning.
The government had said it will rescue a total of 185 persons but six were stopped at the Wuhan Airport due to health problems, according to the Nepali Embassy in China. The details of their health problems, however, have not been revealed.
The Chinese government stops anyone with high body temperature from flying out of Wuhan and many were worried that their temperature may rise ahead of leaving Wuhan.
Four persons opted to stay back.
The wide-body airplane had left the TIA for Wuhan at four Saturday afternoon.
Nepalis from across the Hubei province, where Wuhan lies, had gathered in Wuhan Saturday afternoon. The embassy had brought them to Wuhan from different places in six buses.
The government will quarantine the rescued persons at the training center of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) in Kharipati, Bhaktapur for 14 days.
The locals in Kharipati, who were protesting against the decision to keep the quarantined persons there, have agreed to allow the government to keep them there following a meeting with representatives of the Health Ministry and the thee security bodies on Tuesday where the locals say the government guaranteed their safety and health.
The crew of the wide-body plane will be quarantined at the water supply training center in Changu Narayan municipality 6, Nagarkot.
Four Nepal Army (NA) doctors had accompanied the three pilots, six cabin crew staffers, one engineer and one loadmaster each in the plane to Wuhan.
