The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has instructed the government to immediately rescue Nepalis stranded in the Chinese city of Wuhan.
An emergency meeting of the NHRC on Sunday has issued the instruction citing that 185 students and others have been forced to live like prisoners in rooms, according to NHRC Spokesperson Bed Bhattarai.
"NHRC urges the Nepal Government to make arrangements for safe return of Nepalis in China," the statement issued by the NHRC reads.
It has also decided to summon secretaries at foreign, education and health ministries and ask about the state of Nepalis in China and the government efforts to bring them back.
