Government Spokesperson and Minister for Communication and Information Technology Gokula Baskota has assured the government will soon bring the Nepalis stranded in Wuhan, the epicenter of the new coronavirus epidemic in China.
Addressing the weekly press conference on Thursday, he stated that the delay in rescuing the stranded Nepalis was due to other arrangements and not airplane. He added that the government is doing what it can pointing that Nepal cannot put up a 1300-bed hospital within a week like China did.
He assured that the Nepalis in Wuhan are safe and the government is in regular touch with China.
Guardians of the persons stranded in Wuhan had picketed the Health Ministry demanding return of their near and dear ones. Miniser Baskota called the picketing normal and reassured that the government will soon bring them back.
