The Kathmandu District Administration Office (DAO) has granted four days of custody of singer Astha Raut.
Police had sought custody of Raut, who presented herself to the police on Sunday, for seven days. But Chief District Officer (CDO) Janak Raj Dahal granted custody of just four days. "I have granted custody of four days considering the offense of crime and the state of investigation," CDO Dahal told Setopati.
Raut is under investigation for misbehaving with police constable Ramita Shrestha at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) on January 15. The DAO issued an arrest warrant against Raut four days later after complaint by Shrestha.
Raut had reached the Metropolitan Police Range Office along with her guardians on Sunday. The police took her to the DAO on Monday to seek her custody after having her health checked.
