7 killed when ambulance collides with truck in Sunsari

Seven persons travelling on an ambulance have been killed when it collided with a truck near Lauki, Sunsari.

The ambulance going to Udayapur from Golden Hospital in Biratnagar and the truck going to Biratnagar from Birgunj had a head-on collision, according to Spokesperson with Sunsari Police DSP Binod Sharma. Six men and one woman were inside the ill-fated ambulance.

DSP Sharma said both the vehicles may have been in high speed at the time of collision. The ambulance turned turtle on the road after colliding with the truck. He said it took the police four hours to drag the bodies out of the ambulance.

The ambulance was carrying the body of a woman who breathed her last while undergoing treatment at the hospital in Biratnagar, according to him.
