The bus that killed a doctor in New Baneshwore Sunday morning has been recovered from Ramechhap.
Doctor working at Civil Hospital Prabhu Joshi, 72, was hit by the bus in front of the south gate of the Parliament House at around six while Joshi was on a morning walk. The doctor had died on the spot.
Police say CCTV footage has showed that the bus (Ba 3 Kha) going to Ramechhap from Old Bus Park had hit the doctor. But the driver has denied the allegations. "The bus is seen to be crossing simultaneously with the doctor. The doctor does not look to have crossed the road," DSP with Metropolitan Police Range Kathmandu DSP Habindra Bogati said. "We have, therefore, identified the bus to have hit the pedestrian."
The bus had gone to Ramechhap that day. Police had not been able to immediately take the bus under control as the CCTV footage could not clearly identify the vehicle.
Police have not revealed the driver's name and say both the bus and driver are under investigation.
