The Department of Money Laundering Investigation (DMLI) has raided three medical colleges on Sunday.
It has raided Chitwan Medical College, Nobel Medical College, Biratnagar and National Medical College, Birgunj and seized documents related to admission of MBBS students, according to DMLI sources.
Students are currently protesting against private medical colleges that have charged above the fees set by the government.
The department has been investigating the source of wealth of promoters of all three medical colleges, according to the sources.
Basuruddin Ansari is promoter of National, Sunil Sharma that of Nobel and Harish Chandra Neupane of Chitwan.
National and Chitwan have been accused of charging exorbitant fees while Sharma has been accused of illegally brnging the medical college under his sole ownership, and the college not fulfilling legal and financial liabilities.
