Prime Minister (PM) KP Sharma Oli has laid foundation stone for Nagdhunga-Sisnekhola tunnel way on Monday.
He laid the foundation stone for the 5.56-kilometer tunnel way, from Totitole in Chandragiri municipality 1 to Sisnekhola in Dhading, amidst a program at Totitole.
A Japanese company has won the contract for the tunnel way to be constructed with soft loan from Japan, according to Project Chief Shyam Prasad Kharel. He added that the project will be completed in 42 months.
The Japanese government has provided soft loan of Rs 16 billion for the project while Nepal will invest Rs 6 billion.
Kharel said this will be the first tunnel way for operation of vehicles in Nepal.
Former PM Jhala Nath Khanal, Physical Infrastructure and Infrastructure Minister Raghubir Mahaseth, Water Supply Minister Bina Magar and others were also present during the program.
