District Disaster Management Committee, Tanahu, has begun disaster preparedness in view of the monsoon.
Discussion on disaster preparedness began in a bid to remain alert over the possible risks of physical damages to be caused by rains and subsequent floods.
In the meeting of the committee, Chief District Officer Rudra Prasad Pandit directed the road division office of Damauli, District Police Office, District Health Office and other concerned offices to prepare the team along with physical infrastructures to cope up the disaster risks.
The offices would be ready and deputed to the needy areas with human resources, rescue items and essential medicines, said Assistant Chief District Officer and Information Officer, Tulashi Ram Poudel.
The civil servants are urged not to stay on leave except compulsory situation, so that the responsibilities could be handed over on time.
Meanwhile, Nepal Army's disaster management battalion here has been requested to provide training on community based disaster preparedness and awareness.
