Detailed project report for the construction of a memorial park including a 108-feet tall statue of Vedvyas has been made public. The statue is going to be constructed at Shiva Panchyan temple area at Damauli of Tanahun district.
Vedvyas is a saint and author of the Vedas, the religious text of the Hindus. The Earthquake Safety Solution, which has got responsibility to prepare master plan of other structures including the statue of Vedvyas, unveiled the DPR Tuesday.
On the occasion, Chief Executive Officer of Solution, Deb Kumar Maharjan said that a total of 628.5 million budget has been estimated for the construction of all structures including the statue of Vedvyas. A three story pedestal would be constructed to hold the idol of Vedvyas and it would take around one-and-a-half-year and Rs 70 million to construct the pedestal, Maharjan said.
A target has been set to complete the construction task within four years. Around 30,000 kilograms of copper is needed to make the statue. The park along with the statue and other structures covers an area of 60 ropanis.
