Armed robbers have looted Rs 400,000 by shooting a micro-finance staffer in Dharan, Sunsari Sunday afternoon.
Three robbers in two motorcycles shot Shambhu Prasad Gachchhadar of Jeevan Micro-finance Company at Khoriya of Dharan Sub-metropolis 4 and looted the amount. Gacchhadar was returning to the office after collecting money from depositors.
The robbers may have shot at him after he refused to hand over the money, the police have estimated. DSP with Dharan Police Dhundi Raj Neupane said police are searching for the robbers and looted amount.
"The robbers apparently fired at Gachchhadar after he tried to retaliate," DSP Neupane said.
Gachchhadar is being treated at the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan and is currently out of danger, according to police.
